We have 2 neutered male cats that get along fine. Recently, one has started holding the other one down with his mouth. He is quite a bit larger and the smaller one can’t get away or even move. It is disturbing to us. What do you think could be causing this?

    Hi Nancy,

Is this play like behavior? If not, it could be that the larger cat is trying to position himself as the ‘alpha’ cat. Make sure that the smaller cat is given some extra love and attention as he may be feeling bullied. Chastise the larger cat when you see this behavior happening and make sure he doesn’t try to eat the smaller cat’s food.

Let me know how this goes and if I can help further.

    Kathy
